Very cosy place. Very popular with tourists on Naoshima. Maybe because the food is a bit more Western usual than in other places in Japan. We enjoyed the experience, but would not go back for the food. Rather for the great vibe.

Excellent home cooked food with very warm welcome

Everything closes early this island. Last night when we went to a way overpriced izakaya nearby, me and my boyfriend have been quite disappointed about the food options on the island. However, this cafe really worth paying a visit. The only place we both find the price matching the product they serve (after been to a overpriced cafe for coffee this morning). The lunch set here is highly recommended.

Food is great. Servant is very considerate and nice.

I would give this place 12 stars, if I could. Spanish mackerel is to die for. Cranberry coconut scone + salt butter is nothing to shake a stick at either.

One of the best meals during our 3 week Japan stay, a little treasure hidden in the streets of Honmura. Meals and cafe, with accompanying art, are clearly carefully and lovingly curated to create a perfect haven. Hot citrus tea was so good we had to come back twice to get another round! Thank you so much Apron Cafe team - we think you’re awesome!

Absolutely delicious! Super friendly staff, willing to explain every detail about the dishes. The food was great, simple recipes, organic veggies, strong flavors, soft flavors, all at once, very Japanese. Try the scones, it was a lovely surprise!

If you make a trip out to Naoshima Island, you absolutely must pay a visit to Apron Cafe. It's one of the best meals I've had in Japan, and I've spent almost 2 months traveling throughout the country.My wife and I shared both a set lunch menu (1,500 yen - we got the fried fish option) and a spicy curry dish (~1,100 yen) and both were spectacular. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and there was an abundance of food on each plate. We were really craving some healthy food options and this meal came through in a big way. Even the fried fish tasted healthy, somehow. I don't know how they did it!We also split a chocolate scone once we were done being healthy. It was warm with a soft interior and a nice crunchy exterior. Just delicious!
